Toronto no longer offering new licences to 'predatory' payday loan outlets

Toronto will no longer issue licences for payday loan outlets, in response to concerns that these companies are predatory toward low-income residents, reports CBC. "The question of how do we expand the options of credit for people in the lower income [bracket] is a hugely important question for us to ask," says Brian Dijkema, Vice President of External Affairs at Cardus.
